8 Billion Trees carries out large-scale tree planting and tree conservation operations to fuel positive environmental change and defend habitats for animals, while also caring for displaced and hurt animals by utilizing wildlife sanctuaries and veterinary clinics focused in devastated and deforested areas.
We are dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts around the world. All by planting trees!

Self Help Africa recently planted close to 350,000 tree seedlings as part of Ethiopia’s recent reforestation efforts, while states along the southern fringes of the Sahara Desert are engaged in a massive campaign to plant a ‘Great Green Wall’ of trees, to halt the desert’s southwards spread.
Association Mitsinjo was formed in 1999 by residents of the village of Andasibe in east-central Madagascar. In 2003 we gained management of the Analamazaotra Forest Station, now known as Mitsinjo Park. We also work in the Torotorofotsy Ramsar Site in close collaboration with Asity Madagascar.
The Nature Conservancy’s Plant a Billion Trees campaign is a major forest restoration effort with a goal of planting a billion trees across the planet.

Founded in 1977 by Professor Wangari Maathai, the Green Belt Movement (GBM) has planted over 51 million trees in Kenya. GBM works at the grassroots, national, and international levels to promote environmental conservation; to build climate resilience and empower communities, especially women and girls; to foster democratic space and sustainable livelihoods.
We work with people in the drylands of Africa to tackle poverty and the effects of the climate crisis by growing trees, improving people’s incomes, and restoring and protecting land. Led by local people, our projects make sure trees thrive so they can provide food and incomes today, and protect the environment for tomorrow.
Trees for Change is part of our long term environmental strategy which started by planting tens of thousands of trees and saplings, and creating a plant nursery, at our Children’s Eco Village in Tanzania. Other countries to benefit from Trees for Change are Bangladesh and Jordan.

ITF members have been pioneering community led forestry restoration since 1922. We are a self-funding Not for Profit organization founded in 1979 (formerly known as Men of The Trees). We have planted more than 15 million native trees & understory to improve biodiversity, combat salinity and soil erosion.
