From our hearts
With our hands
For the Earth
All the world together.
A vision of the earth made green again through the efforts of children planting and caring for trees everywhere — joining together as a global community to regreen the earth.
From 1980-1995 Children of the Green Earth initiated, fostered, and connected children’s tree planting efforts in schools, youth groups, and communities around the globe in what became known as a project called Festival of the Trees. Through these projects, young people planted hundreds of thousands of trees and contributed to a generation of new tree and earth stewards. This site is both a celebration of the inspired work that these groups did, the trees they planted, and the hope they fostered for the future, as well as a resource for those carrying on the work of planting and tending trees with children.
This site is a collection of stories, resources and connections to help youth, teachers, groups, and communities plan and implement tree-related activities – you will find here articles about inspired tree people and communities, tree folklore stories and poetry, lists of other organizations dedicated to greening the planet, and information on how to plant, care for, and celebrate trees. We have gathered them here for you to use.
Here are some updates about efforts to green the earth.
